BrainTech Alliance at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering

BrainTech Alliance
September 10, 2025

On September 9, 2025, the BrainTech Alliance held its first European event in London, bringing together researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs to shape the future of neurotechnology and brain health innovation.

Organized by Newfund Heka and Nexus Neurotech Ventures, with the support of Satori Neuro, the BrainTech Alliance is emerging as the global reference platform for advancing solutions in neurology, psychiatry, and mental health technologies.

A Global Network Driving BrainTech Innovation

The BrainTech Alliance now unites over 150 international leaders across neuroscience, NeuroTech startups, and digital health investment. This global community represents:

  • 1,000+ peer-reviewed scientific publications from top institutions in the US, UK, and France.
  • €2 billion under management to invest in brain health innovation and mental health technologies.

Together, they are addressing the world’s most urgent brain diseases and mental health challenges:

  • Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, migraine.
  • Depression, bipolar disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.

With neurological and psychiatric disorders affecting more than 4 billion people worldwide, and an annual economic cost exceeding €1 trillion in Europe and the US, the need for scalable BrainTech solutions has never been more critical.

London: First European BrainTech Gathering

After a founding event in Palo Alto earlier this year, the London edition of the BrainTech Alliance brought together 90 carefully selected participants at the London Institute of Healthcare Engineering.

Attendees included leading international VC funds such as Innovestor, EQT, Par Equity, Convergence, DragonFly44 Capital, and PsyMed Ventures.

On the startup side, BrainTech pioneers such as Soihtu DTx, Nervonik, Myonerv, Robeaute, MintNeuro, Neubond, and Flow Neuroscience presented breakthrough innovations.

The event also featured world-class academic representation from Imperial College, Cambridge, UCL, King’s College, and the University of Sheffield, reinforcing London’s role as a European hub for neuroscience and NeuroTech innovation.

From Science to Market: Building Global NeuroTech Champions

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion:
“From Lab to Multi-Billion Bets: The Global Emergence of Neurotechnology.”

Speakers included:

Key insights emphasized the importance of:

  • Connecting fundamental neuroscience research with ambitious venture capital.
  • Accelerating clinical validation of digital therapeutics and NeuroTech devices.
  • Driving global adoption of innovative solutions in brain health and mental health care.

As Pierre Frouin, Partner at Newfund Heka, highlighted:
“The challenges we address are massive, but solutions require rigorous clinical validation. That’s why we need a strong community and smart capital. The BrainTech Alliance is here to transform science into solutions, fund them, and mobilize global expertise. The London meeting showed our ability to make French entrepreneurs, British scientists, and American investors collaborate on complex issues, that’s the key to success.”
